Bubonicon 43 happens this weekend (August 26-28) in Albuquerque, NM, and a bunch of Cheese Magneteers will be on hand for the festivities.
Aside from finding us roaming the halls (or hanging out with the Star Trek fans, who mix a mean girl-drink), we’ll be doing a panel Friday night at 9:30 called “For the Love of Cheese.” The panel is moderated by Friend o’ the Cheese Victor Milan, who will be grilling (and I’m not gonna make the joke there) Scott Denning, John Jos. Miller and myself (and possibly bonus Friend o’ the Cheese Ian Tregillis — also the con’s Toastmaster) on what makes crappy, trashy movies so much fun.
Me and JJM will also be on a panel about superhero movies, alongside moderator Melinda Snodgrass and fellow panelists Aaron Campbell and Andy Kuhn. That happens Saturday morning at 11:00.
On top of that, if you’re a fan of Game of Thrones (and who isn’t these days), George R.R. Martin will be on hand, along with Guest of Honor Stephen Leigh and Artist Guest of Honor John Picacio. Plenty of other terrific guests will be in attendance and the theme this time around is Steampunk, so slap on your goggles and get on down to the Sheraton Albuquerque Airport Hotel (2910 Yale Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106)!
The fire code capacity for the hotel limits Bubonicon to 650 attendees, so get there early and stake your claim!
